How Can Parents Get Involved?

There are many ways for parents to get involved in the preschool experience:

  • Volunteer in the classroom
  • Review and respond to teacher communication
  • Attend parent-teacher conferences
  • Read to your child daily
  • Reinforce the school instructional program at home
  • Participate in Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) meetings
  • Attend Parent Education & Family Nights

Here's how parents or other family members can get cleared to volunteer:

The State of California requires all adults working with children under the age of five to have the following vaccinations:

  • TB test
  • Measels and pertussis vaccination
  • Annual flu shot (adults may opt out of the annual flu shot)

Adults must also meet current Buena Park School District screening requirements.
