How Can Parents Get Involved?
There are many ways for parents to get involved in the preschool experience:
- Volunteer in the classroom
- Review and respond to teacher communication
- Attend parent-teacher conferences
- Read to your child daily
- Reinforce the school instructional program at home
- Participate in Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) meetings
- Attend Parent Education & Family Nights
Here's how parents or other family members can get cleared to volunteer:
The State of California requires all adults working with children under the age of five to have the following vaccinations:
- TB test
- Measels and pertussis vaccination
- Annual flu shot (adults may opt out of the annual flu shot)
Adults must also meet current Buena Park School District screening requirements.
